Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, focusing on servers, storage systems, and other critical hardware components. The role involves ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. This includes monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing all infrastructure-related software and associated operating systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
- Ensure the security and integrity of IT infrastructure by implementing and maintaining security measures.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
- Manage storage systems, ensuring data availability and reliability.
- Support and Maintenance:
- Provide technical support for server and infrastructure-related issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, patch management, and hardware/software upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server and storage-related outages.
- Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and infrastructure layouts.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with the IT team on infrastructure-related projects.
- Manage server and storage upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to the organization.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve IT infrastructure efficiency.
- Security:
- Implement and maintain security protocols for servers and storage systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
- Proficiency with server hardware and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with storage systems and data management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
